Welcome to the web site of the Dynamical Systems group at the Department of Physics, University of Coimbra.

Dynamical systems are those in which the system and its properties evolve in time. Our team's activities are directed towards understanding the properties of (bio)materials at scales ranging from sub-atomic up to the level of biological tissues. The methods that we employ include time-dependent density functional theory for studies of molecular and materials physics and course-grained phase field models in large scale studies of biological soft matter.

In addition to fundamental and applied science we contribute to the development of codes used worldwide in ab-initio calculations.  Please see the Research section for more details.

See the News section for the most recent activity of the group.
